95-MC Thermoplastic Elastomers Flame Retardant Masterbatch
I. Product Introduction
95-MC is a pelletized flame retardant masterbatch compounded from high‑loading encapsulated red phosphorus masterbatch and nitrogen flame retardant through a proprietary granulation process. It is specifically developed for TPE and TPU elastomer systems. Compared with conventional phosphorus‑nitrogen flame retardant systems for TPU, typically require 30%–40% addition, 95-MC achieves comparable flame retardancy at just 32%–35% addition, effectively reducing flame retardant formulation cost by up to 30%. The masterbatch form significantly reduces the amount of powdery fillers introduced into the compound, thereby minimizing the negative impact on the mechanical properties of the finished elastomer products.

III. Product Features
· Low addition, high efficiency – Achieves UL‑94 V‑0 at 32%–35% loading in TPU, with lower dosage than conventional systems.
· Cost‑effective – Reduces flame retardant cost by approximately 30% compared to typical phosphorus‑nitrogen systems.
· Minimal impact on physical properties – The masterbatch form introduces little powder into the system, preserving tensile strength, elongation, and flexibility of the final product.
· Excellent dispersion – Red phosphorus is fully encapsulated and pre‑dispersed in the carrier, eliminating concerns about red phosphorus dust, agglomeration, or poor mixing.
· No blooming, no migration – Compatible with TPE/TPU matrices, ensuring good surface quality without exudation.
· Halogen‑free and environmentally friendly – Complies with RoHS, REACH and other environmental standards; low smoke, low toxicity.
V. Applications
· Suitable substrates: TPE (SEBS‑based, SBS‑based) and TPU (polyester‑type, polyether‑type).
· Recommended addition level: 32%–35% by weight (for UL‑94 V‑0 at 1.6 mm).
· Mixing method: Dry‑blend 95-MC pellets with TPE/TPU pellets and process via twin‑screw extrusion, injection molding, or calendering. No separate compounding of powder ingredients is required.
· Processing notes: Recommended processing temperature 180–220°C. Avoid prolonged residence above 230°C to prevent premature decomposition of red phosphorus components.
