I. Product Introduction
RP-CO is a thixotropic paste flame retardant produced by specially blending stabilized microencapsulated red phosphorus (MRP) with castor oil. The red phosphorus is uniformly dispersed in the castor oil carrier, forming an easy-to-handle paste that eliminates dusting and metering difficulties. Its thixotropic nature prevents sedimentation and separation during long-term storage, and simplifies re-homogenization.
This product is specially designed for polyurethane (PU) systems (e.g., PU adhesives, PU casting resins, PU elastomers) and offers very high flame retardant efficiency.
Equivalent to Clariant Exolit® RP 6520.
II.Product Features
Safe & Convenient: Paste form, dust free, can be pumped or weighed easily – safe and simple handling.
High Efficiency: High red phosphorus content (approx. 43–48% P), excellent flame retardancy at low addition levels.
Good Compatibility: Castor oil carrier is compatible with many polyols and isocyanates; does not impair mechanical properties of adhesives or resins.
Thixotropic Anti settling: Thixotropic structure prevents settling of red phosphorus; easy to re homogenize after long storage.
Halogen free & Environmentally Friendly: Halogen free, RoHS and REACH compliant, low smoke and low toxicity.
Synergistic Effect: Can be combined with aluminium hydroxide (ATH), magnesium hydroxide (MDH) etc. to reduce total flame retardant addition.
III. Application
PU adhesives, PU casting resins (electrical encapsulation, insulators), PU elastomers, sealants, Unsaturated polyester resins, epoxy resins, etc..
V. Package Storage & Transportation
1. Metal drum package, 1150kg/ IBC drum, or 25kg/plastic drum.
2. Transport as non dangerous chemical product.
3. Storage in cool dry place.
