YS-8XT Halogen Flame Retardant Masterbatch for PP
I. Introduction
YS-8XT is a highly efficient bromine-antimony synergistic flame retardant masterbatch specifically designed for polypropylene materials. It enables products to easily achieve an excellent vertical burning rating (UL94 V-0) with low addition levels, featuring drip-type flame retardancy where flames do not ignite cotton.
Featuring an eco-friendly formulation, this product excludes the controversial substance DBDPE, aligning with current environmental regulations and market trends. It is suitable for high-end applications demanding both superior flame retardancy and environmental sustainability.

III. Product Feature & Application
1. Highly efficient flame retardancy with stable performance:
In homopolymer PP, a recommended addition of 12% consistently achieves UL94 V-0 rating.
In copolymer PP, a recommended addition of approximately 18-20% consistently achieves UL94 V-0 rating.
High flame retardancy efficiency with minimal impact on substrate physical and mechanical properties.
2. Superior Drip Resistance:
During combustion testing, it effectively suppresses molten droplets from igniting cotton swabs, meeting the stringent V-0 standard requirement that “dripping material does not ignite cotton.” This significantly enhances material safety in real-world fire scenarios.
3. Outstanding processing stability and dispersibility:
Formulated as a masterbatch with PP as the carrier, it exhibits excellent compatibility with PP substrates. During melt blending in the screw, it disperses uniformly without stratification or powder spitting issues, ensuring superior processing flowability.
4. Environmentally Friendly Formulation:
The formulation intentionally excludes restricted or controversial brominated flame retardants like DBDPE. This facilitates compliance with increasingly stringent environmental regulations (e.g., RoHS, REACH) for downstream products, enhancing market access capabilities.
IV. Application
Mainly used for flame retardancy of engineering plastics such as electronics, electrical appliances, and lamps, as well as flame retardancy of wires and cables, pipes, and sheets.
