I. Product Introduction

YS-TCG5 is a halogen-free, environmentally friendly ceramifiable flame retardant specifically designed for high-temperature vulcanized (HTV) silicone rubber. Upon exposure to high-temperature flame, it rapidly undergoes ceramification to form a dense, rigid ceramic layer that effectively insulates heat and oxygen while suppressing smoke generation. HTV compounds incorporating YS-TCG5 (2 mm thickness) can achieve UL-94 V-0 rating with excellent self-extinguishing properties, and show no burn-through or cracking after flame exposure. This product is ideal for demanding applications in aerospace, military, rail transit, nuclear power, and explosion-proof sealing.

III. Product Features

· Superior ceramification performance – Withstands 1000°C+ flame for over 30 minutes without burnthrough; backside temperature maintained below 600°C, effectively delaying heat transfer.

· Excellent dispersibility and compatibility – Surface-treated for strong affinity with silicone rubber matrix, ensuring uniform dispersion without compromising processing behavior.

· Green and environmentally friendly – Free of halogens and heavy metals, compliant with REACH and RoHS; low-toxicity combustion fumes.

· Stable flame retardancy – Reliably achieves V-0 at 2 mm thickness, with no flaming drips and immediate selfextinguishing.


IV. Application Guidelines

· Recommended ratio : Base (HTV compound) : YS-TCG5 = 1 : 0.55~0.7 (by weight).

· Mixing procedure:

1. Pre-dry YS-TCG5 at 105–110°C for 2 hours to remove surface moisture;

2. Add the dried flame retardant to the base rubber in batches using an internal mixer, and knead thoroughly until homogeneous (total kneading time approx. 20–30 min);

3. After kneading, apply vacuum treatment at 165°C ± 5°C (vacuum ≥ 0.09 MPa) to remove entrapped air and ensure product densification.

· Processing note: Keep kneading temperature below 80°C to avoid premature crosslinking.


V. Package Storage & Transportation

1. Packaging: 25 kg/bag, inner PE liner with outer woven bag.

2. Transportation: Classified as non‑dangerous chemical for shipping.

3. Storage: Store in a cool, dry, and well‑ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight. Keep sealed; shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacture.
