ZSB-A Composite Flame Retardant & Smoke Suppressant (For PVC)
I. Introduction
ZSB-A is a high-efficiency composite flame retardant and smoke suppressant specially developed for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) systems. It is produced by a proprietary compounding process using multiple synergistic flame retardant and smoke-suppressing components. The product functions through a triple synergistic mechanism: gas-phase flame retardancy, condensed-phase char formation, and smoke suppression. The components work together to promote char layer formation, significantly suppress smoke generation, inhibit melt dripping, and dilute combustible gases. Without the need for additional flame retardants, ZSB-A enables PVC products to achieve excellent flame retardancy and smoke suppression. It is suitable for PVC sheets, cables, and other PVC products.
II. Product Specifications
Note: The above data is for reference only. Due to differences in customer formulations and processes, the actual dosage and application should be determined based on the customer's own testing.
III. Product Feature
1. Integrated flame retardancy and smoke suppression – Combines flame retardant and smoke suppressant functions in one product, eliminating the need for additional flame retardants or smoke suppressants and simplifying the formulation.
2. High synergistic efficiency – The synergistic effect among the components significantly improves the flame retardancy rating and smoke suppression performance of PVC at moderate addition levels.
3. Environmentally friendly and safe – Halogen-free and free of heavy metal antimony. Complies with RoHS, REACH and other environmental regulations. Low smoke and low toxicity during combustion.
4. Good compatibility – Excellent compatibility with PVC resin, uniform dispersion, without compromising mechanical properties or processing performance.
5. Stable processing – Good thermal stability, suitable for conventional PVC sheet extrusion, cable extrusion, and other processing methods.
IV. Application
• Suitable substrates: Flexible PVC, rigid PVC, PVC cable compounds, PVC sheets, etc.
• Recommended addition level: 40%–50% (based on PVC resin weight). No additional flame retardants or smoke suppressants are required.

• Mixing method: Mix ZSB-A with PVC resin and other additives uniformly, then compound via twin-screw extrusion or direct extrusion. Recommended processing temperature: 170– 190°C. Avoid excessively high temperatures.
• Precautions: This product contains inorganic flame retardant components. Processing temperature should not exceed 200°C. Pre-drying at 80°C for 2 hours is recommended before use.
