RYS-TCG7R Ceramifiable Red Phosphorus Flame Retardant Masterbatch (For Polyolefin Cables)

I. Introduction

RYS-TCG7R is a light-red flame retardant masterbatch produced by compounding a high-efficiency ceramifiable ablation-resistant agent with encapsulated red phosphorus through a proprietary granulation process. It combines high-efficiency flame retardancy with ceramification in one product: under flame or high-temperature conditions, the red phosphorus component acts in the gas phase to interrupt the combustion chain reaction, while the ceramifiable component rapidly sinters to form a dense, hard ceramic-like shell that does not melt or drip, providing effective thermal insulation, oxygen barrier, and smoke suppression, along with excellent resistance to water spray and mechanical vibration. The pellet form is dust-free, easy to handle, and disperses well, making it suitable for flame retardant modification of ceramifiable low-smoke halogen-free polyolefin cable compounds (e.g., PE, EVA).

III. Application Information:

· Suitable substrates: Low-smoke halogen-free polyolefin cable compounds, such as PE, EVA, EVA/PE blends, etc.

· Recommended addition level: 20%–40% by weight of the total formulation, depending on the target fire resistance rating and base polymer system.

· Mixing method: Mix RYS-TCG7R thoroughly with polyolefin resin and other additives, then compound by extrusion or process directly.

· Processing recommendation: Recommended processing temperature ≤200°C. Avoid prolonged high-temperature residence to prevent premature decomposition of the red phosphorus component.


IV. Product Feature

1. Dual function: flame retardancy + ceramification – Encapsulated red phosphorus gas-phase flame retardancy and ceramic shell formation work synergistically. No melting or dripping under high-temperature ablation; forms a robust ceramic shell.

2. High flame retardant efficiency – Achieves UL94 V 0 and meets ceramification requirements for fire-resistant cables at moderate addition levels.

3. Halogen-free and environmentally friendly – Contains no halogens, compliant with RoHS, REACH and other environmental regulations; low smoke and low toxicity during combustion.

4. Pellet form, dust-free and easy to use – No powder dusting; simplifies weighing and feeding; improves workshop environment.

5. Excellent dispersion – Active ingredients are pre-dispersed, ensuring uniform distribution in polyolefin matrices without agglomeration or sedimentation.

6. Excellent fire resistance – After ceramification, good adhesion, no cracking or dripping, dense ablation surface, high strength, resistant to water spray and mechanical vibration, meeting the highest fire resistance grades such as BS6387 CWZ.


V. Package Storage & Transportation

1. Packed in kraft paper bags, 25 kg per bag.  

2. Store in a ventilated, light-protected area.  

3. Transport as a non-hazardous chemical.
