Challenges with Traditional Corrugated Pipe
In the traditional Corrugated Pipe manufacturing process, flame-retardant masterbatch is added to meet material flame-retardancy requirements. However, the flame retardants in traditional flame-retardant masterbatch tend to leach out in environments with fluctuating temperature and humidity, forming a white powder.
This phenomenon is particularly noticeable during warehouse storage, especially in humid seasons or environments with significant temperature fluctuations. Option 1: PE-XT-141 Reactive and Additive-Type Flame Retardant Masterbatch
PE-XT-141 is a new, highly effective reactive and additive-type flame retardant masterbatch in the form of white pellets. It is specifically designed to address the issue of poor compatibility between traditional flame retardants and PE.
Key Advantages:
Resists migration and does not bloom. When melt-blended, PE-XT-141 forms a uniform and stable dispersion system, significantly improving the compatibility between the flame retardant and the PE matrix. It does not migrate or bloom even after long-term storage. It does not stick to molds or clog screens during processing.
Self-extinguishing upon removal from the flame, with controllable addition levels. Adding just 10–20% to PE achieves self-extinguishing properties. For V0-rated corrugated pipes, the typical addition rate is around 20–30%, though this should be adjusted based on the raw material’s melt flow index.
White masterbatch, compatible with any color. Its white pellet form makes it suitable for white flame-retardant products made from HDPE/LDPE without interfering with color matching.
Wide range of process compatibility. Suitable for injection molding, filament drawing, extrusion, and blow molding. Applicable to corrugated pipes, electrical conduits, hollow panels, artificial turf, fire-resistant mesh, wires, and cables.

Option 2: FRP-950X Coated Red Phosphorus Masterbatch + A Small Amount of Filler-Type Flame Retardant
FRP-950X is a high-content microcapsule-coated red phosphorus flame retardant masterbatch that, when used in combination with a small amount of filler-type flame retardant, forms a red phosphorus-inorganic synergistic flame retardant system.
Key Advantages:
Extremely low loading rate. Due to the high concentration of microcapsule-coated red phosphorus, an addition of approximately 10% in PE corrugated tubing is sufficient to meet the V-0 (2.0 mm) flame retardancy standard. This is significantly lower than the loading rates required by traditional flame retardant solutions and has minimal impact on the physical properties of the substrate.
Synergistic Enhancement. When FRP-950X is used in combination with aluminum hydroxide, red phosphorus captures free radicals in the gas phase, while aluminum hydroxide absorbs heat and cools the material in the condensed phase, forming a protective layer. The synergy between the two significantly boosts flame retardancy efficiency.
Low-Smoke, Halogen-Free. Environmentally friendly and halogen-free, compliant with RoHS requirements. Produces low smoke output and low-toxicity smoke during combustion.
Resistance to Leaching. Microencapsulation technology seals red phosphorus within a protective layer, preventing the leaching of phosphine and phosphoric acid, effectively addressing the leaching issues common in traditional red phosphorus systems.
Applications: Corrugated tubing and pipe products requiring low-smoke and halogen-free properties, particularly for orders destined for the EU and other regions with strict environmental regulations.
