  • Flame Retardant EPDM Rubber: Enhancing Safety and Durability
Flame retardant materials play a vital role in preventing the spread of fire and minimizing its impact. When it comes to flexible plastic or rubber materials, the ability to self-extinguish is of utmost importance. This means that the material can only hold a flame when actively exposed to it, and once the heat source is removed, the burning stops. EPDM rubber, a synthetic elastomer, offers excellent flame retardant properties, making it an ideal choice for applications where fire safety is paramount. It not only meets the highest fire protection regulations but also provides exceptional weathering and aging properties, making it suitable for a wide range of environments.   Read More>

Flame Retardancy, Fogging, And Odor in Automotive PU Interiors: How To Control Them with A Phosphorus-Nitrogen Synergistic Solution?
2026/07/25

Polyurethane for automotive interiors must simultaneously meet three standards: FMVSS 302 flame retardancy, low misting (≤2 mg), and low odor (VDA 270 ≤3.0). The phosphorus-nitrogen synergistic system limits the flame retardant loading to 16 parts, achieves an LOI of 29–30%, and meets the V-0 rating, while also reducing the contribution of volatile compounds, providing a viable path for formulation balance.

MCA Flame-Retardant Nylon: Why Does It Sometimes “Fail”?
2026/05/02

Fluctuations in the flame retardancy rating of MCA-flame-retardant nylon between batches stem from the tendency of its molecular hydrogen bonds to aggregate, resulting in uneven dispersion. Yinsu Flame Retardant enhances the dispersion stability of MCA through surface modification and ultra-fine particle size control, achieving a stable V0 rating at low loading levels (4–5%) while maintaining mechanical properties. Yinsu Flame Retardant elucidates the mechanism behind MCA’s “failure” and provides modification solutions, making it ideal for engineering plastics manufacturers struggling with unstable flame retardancy.

Are Thinner Flame-retardant Parts Actually Harder To Work With?
2026/04/21

When it comes to flame retardancy in thin-walled parts, adding too much reduces flow and prevents proper filling, while adding too little fails to meet V0 standards. How can we solve this dilemma? By combining phosphorus-based synergists with ultra-fine particles, we can reliably pass the V0 test even at low loading levels—while actually maintaining flow and impact strength. Don’t just pile on the additives; the key lies in proper formulation.

How Can Phosphorus-based Flame Retardants Avoid Decomposition, Leaching, And Yellowing at High Temperatures of 300°C?
2026/04/26

When modifying high-temperature nylon and PBT for flame retardancy—where processing temperatures frequently reach 300°C—conventional halogen-free phosphorus-based flame retardants tend to decompose, cause mold fouling, and lead to yellowing as soon as they are introduced. However, after modifying the molecular structure and applying a coating, thermal stability has improved, mold fouling has decreased, and light-colored parts no longer risk discoloration.
