  • The “Have Your Cake And Eat It Too” of Foam Materials: How To Achieve Damping, Flame Retardancy, And Strength All at Once?
High-density polyurethane foam faces the “impossible triangle” of damping, flame retardancy, and strength. Yinsu Flame Retardant employs a dual-technology approach—“intrinsic flame retardancy (molecular incorporation of phosphorus-containing monomers) + surface armor (polysiloxane flame-retardant layer)”—to simultaneously enhance all three performance metrics, thereby avoiding the mechanical property degradation associated with traditional additive-based flame retardants. The LEFP series of microcellular foam materials is already in mass production and is being used in applications such as automotive shims and railroad sleeper pads.   Read More>
  • Weekly Report on The Sulfur Industry (August 14–21, 2026)
Sulfur prices have surged 187% year-over-year, with solid sulfur in East China rising from 2,394 yuan per metric ton in 2025 to 6,871 yuan per metric ton in 2026. This week, the mainstream granular sulfur price at Chinese ports stood at 8,750 yuan per metric ton, down 300 yuan per metric ton from last week—a 3.31% decline. Nationwide port inventories stand at 878,400 metric tons. Although this represents a 5.25% increase from the previous week, it remains more than 63% lower year-over-year and is at a near-decade low. The global supply shortfall is approximately 5.13 million metric tons, with imports far below normal levels. Prices for phosphorus-based flame retardants, such as red phosphorus and ammonium polyphosphate, are prone to rise but not fall due to cost pass-through from sulfur. Coupled with successive price increases for bromine and antimony, the overall cost pressure on the flame retardant industry continues to climb.   Read More>
  • Types of Flame Retardants in PVC Plastics, Flame Retardancy Rating Standards, Mechanisms of Action, and Applications
A Comprehensive Analysis of PVC Flame Retardant Types, Synergistic Mechanisms, and the UL 94 Flame Retardancy Rating Standard. Due to the presence of plasticizers, the LOI of flexible PVC decreases significantly; therefore, highly effective flame retardancy must be achieved through synergistic blending of chlorinated paraffin, red phosphorus, antimony trioxide, and other compounds. This article provides a detailed explanation of the mechanisms of action for halogen-based, phosphorus-based, nitrogen-based, and inorganic flame retardants, covering classic case studies in applications such as PVC cable compounds, pipes, and profiles, and serves as a technical reference for formulation engineers engaged in PVC flame retardant modification.   Read More>
  • [Weekly Melamine Review]: Upstream-Downstream Dynamics Lead To Flexible Adjustments in Company Quotations (August 7, 2026–August 13, 2026)
The current downturn in the melamine market provides a short-term cost advantage for downstream flame retardant manufacturers, but concurrent weakness on the demand side may partially offset this benefit. Companies are advised to take advantage of the current raw material price window to optimize their procurement strategies, while closely monitoring the pace of demand recovery in end-user industries such as building materials and cables.   Read More>
  • Global FR Compliance Guide: Exporting To EU, US, And Southeast Asia
Flame-retardant PVC intended for export must comply with various regulations, including the EU’s REACH (SVHC screening + CPR fire safety requirements), California Proposition 65 (limit of 25 ppm per substance), and Southeast Asian chemical registration requirements. Since copper wires come into contact with cables, whereas pipes do not, the paths to compliance differ significantly. YinSu Flame Retardant offers export compliance solutions tailored to specific product types and markets, thereby reducing the risk associated with formulation adjustments.   Read More>
  • LSZH vs. PVC: A Practical Guide for Engineers
PVC cable compounds still account for 38.7% of the global market (approximately $7.07 billion), while LSZH materials are 30–50% more expensive and require equipment upgrades. GB/T 19666 specifies that low-smoke, halogen-free cables must have a smoke density and light transmittance of ≥60%, a pH of ≥4.3, and a conductivity of ≤10 µs/mm. For requirements related to smoke density and corrosivity, upgrading to flame-retardant PVC (replacing antimony trioxide with red phosphorus, resulting in a cost increase of only 8–12%) is a more rational choice.   Read More>
  • Why Flexible PVC Loses Flame Resistance — The Plasticizer Problem
  • Antimony Prices Bottom Out and Stage a V-Shaped Rebound; Market Returns to the 100,000 Mark (July 31–August 7)
Antimony prices have completed a V-shaped bottoming-out and rebound, with No. 1 antimony ingots rising from 90,000 yuan per metric ton to 100,000 yuan per metric ton, while antimony trioxide has risen in tandem. Refineries are becoming increasingly reluctant to sell, leading to a sharp decline in low-priced supply. Yinsu Flame Retardants offers antimony-free and low-antimony solutions, such as the composite antimony substitute FR-03 and the magnesium-aluminum layered flame retardant HAM-300V, to mitigate the impact of raw material price fluctuations on formulation costs.   Read More>

0907-Figure 1 Monthly Price Trends for the Yellow Phosphorus Market, 2025–2026 (yuanmetric ton).jpg
[Monthly Review of Yellow Phosphorus And Phosphorus-Containing Intermediates]: Prices Showed An Overall Upward Trend (August 2026)
2026/09/07

In August, the average monthly price of yellow phosphorus rose 4% month-over-month and 22% year-over-year, keeping costs for phosphorus-based flame retardants under sustained pressure. However, due to weak downstream demand, industry-wide oversupply, and difficulties in passing on cost increases, price hikes for flame retardants were limited, squeezing profit margins. In September, stockpiling ahead of the two major holidays may drive yellow phosphorus prices higher still, and cost support remains strong. Until end-user demand shows a noticeable recovery, the phosphorus-based flame retardant market is expected to maintain a pattern of “high costs, weak demand, and tight profit margins,” with profit recovery still contingent on a revival in consumption.

The Corrugated Pipe Haven't Been Delivered Yet, But The Product Has Already Deteriorated in The Warehouse?
2026/09/06

The leaching of flame retardants from corrugated pipes causes surface whitening, frosting, and a decline in performance; the root cause lies in the poor compatibility between the flame retardants and the PE substrate. YinSu Flame Retardant Company offers PE-XT-141 non-leaching flame-retardant masterbatch and the FRP-950X red phosphorus flame-retardant solution, which address the leaching issue at its source and ensure long-term stability of flame-retardant performance.

Fire-Retardant PVC Pipes: An Overlooked Market Opportunity
2026/09/03

GB 8624-2023 has included building piping materials within the scope of Class B1 flame retardancy. Rigid PVC pipes coated with 8 parts of red phosphorus can meet Class B1 requirements, while their ring stiffness and drop-weight impact resistance comply with GB/T 10002.1. Flame retardancy requirements for piping materials used in high-rise buildings, subways, and data centers are shifting from “optional” to “mandatory.”
