The challenges of flame retardancy for PA6/PA66 are entirely different from those of PP; melt drips, high processing temperatures, color restrictions due to red phosphorus, and moisture absorption and precipitation constitute the four major technical barriers. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the logic behind selecting flame retardants for PA and offers practical formulation data for FRP-750A, FRP-301Y3, and ADP to help engineers quickly avoid the pitfall of simply “applying PP formulations.”

The PA6 chip market is trending downward, with weak follow-through in downstream demand for modification and spinning. Halogen-free flame retardants (such as ADP and MCA) and bromine-antimony alternatives are facing a new round of cost challenges. Yinsu Flame Retardants analyzes the impact of PA6 market conditions on the flame retardant market and provides efficient, stable, and customized flame retardant solutions. Why Must Halogen-Free PP Flame Retardants Be Added at a Concentration of 25% or Higher? This article provides an in-depth analysis of the differences in the mechanisms of action between bromine-antimony (gas-phase chemical blocking) and phosphorus-nitrogen (physical carbonization), and offers a comprehensive solution to overcome physical property and cost bottlenecks through high-concentration masterbatches (PQ-75M), elimination of APP water-induced slippage, and blending technology. It also includes a cost-saving alternative guide for PPV2-8H/PPV2-6.

Why Do Attempts to Adapt Flame-Retardant ABS Formulations to PP Always Fail? This article provides an in-depth analysis of the differences in carbonization mechanisms between PP and PC/ABS from the perspective of molecular structure, uncovering the three major weaknesses of PP: “low oxygen index, difficulty in carbonization, and tendency to drip.” Based on actual test data from Yinsu’s PQ-75M, PPV2-8H, and PPV2-6, it offers a precise selection matrix to meet requirements for halogen-free export, cost-reduction V-2 ratings, and water-resistant, low-drip performance.

With polypropylene costs remaining high and supply tightening, cost pressures on flame-retardant PP materials persist. However, demand is expected to rebound as operations resume after the National Day holiday and companies stock up for the “Double 11” shopping festival, which should lead to improved trading activity in the flame-retardant PP market. Demand for halogen-free flame-retardant PP is growing steadily in sectors such as new energy and home appliances. Market participants should monitor raw material price trends and focus on formulation optimization to capitalize on opportunities for cost pass-through.

Why is it so difficult to achieve both V-0 flame retardancy, transparency, and elasticity in thin TPU films? Yin塑 analyzes the physical limits of flame retardancy in 0.15mm ultra-thin films from perspectives such as specific surface area, melt droplet effects, and processing windows, and introduces breakthrough approaches including reactive flame retardancy, nano-synergy, and precision cast film technology.

Flame retardancy in PET film faces three major challenges: difficulty in suppressing heat release, the conflict between melt droplets and charring, and the trade-off between transparency and flame retardancy. Yinsu Flame Retardants analyzes the factors contributing to PET’s flammability, the limitations of mainstream technical approaches, and potential breakthroughs in reactive flame retardants and synergistic systems.

Antimony trioxide saw a moderate decline in September, but bromine prices continued to rise; with both bromine and antimony prices high, cost pressures on flame retardants remain unabated. The antimony market is expected to fluctuate weakly in October, with the pace of downstream restocking and the resumption of mining operations in Myanmar serving as key variables.

A New Flame-Retardant and Anti-Drip Solution for PET Fabrics: Hemochrome chloride dyeing combined with tannic acid-based flame retardants increases the LOI from 21% to 29.8%, reduces peak smoke generation by 49.7%, eliminates molten droplets, and provides both UV resistance and antimicrobial properties. This approach offers a new path for developing multifunctional flame-retardant PET textiles.

How Can PET Blended Spinning Modification Balance Flame Retardancy and Spinnability? YinSu Flame Retardancy: An analysis of the technical background of blended spinning, the logic behind selecting flame-retardant masterbatches, the phosphorus-silicon synergistic system, as well as the root causes and solutions for fiber breakage, nozzle clogging, and reduced melt stability—providing a systematic reference for the functional modification of PET fibers, from formulation to process.

PET Flame-Retardant Filament Spinning: Filament Breakage, Nozzle Clogging, and Decreased Tensile Strength? This article analyzes the core elements of flame-retardant masterbatch formulation design—Yiinsu flame retardant, selection of halogen-free and phosphorus-based flame retardants, synergist matching, and dispersion and antioxidant systems—and provides a formulation framework that balances spinnability and flame retardancy in PET spinning.

Flame-retardant PP is rapidly replacing traditional flame-retardant HIPS and ABS in the home appliance and electronics sectors thanks to its lightweight properties (20% weight reduction) and cost advantages (37% cost reduction). Compared to HIPS/ABS, which suffer from relatively high prices and mediocre resistance to yellowing and aging, flame-retardant PP has emerged as the preferred alternative due to its low cost, lightweight properties, and excellent resistance to aging. Yinsu Flame Retardants offers bromine-antimony and phosphorus-nitrogen-based flame retardant solutions to meet various environmental and cost requirements.

This week, bromine prices rose to 40,000 yuan per metric ton. Cost-side support for bromine-based flame retardants has strengthened, and low industry inventories combined with suppliers’ reluctance to sell have solidified the price floor. Pre-holiday stockpiling has driven essential restocking, but downstream buyers are reluctant to purchase at high prices, limiting the scale of concentrated restocking. Overall, the bromine-based flame retardant market is expected to consolidate at high levels next week in line with bromine prices. Prices are likely to remain stable rather than fall, though upside potential will be constrained by downstream acceptance.

Weekly melamine production fell by 3.57%, with capacity utilization dropping below 50%. Mainstream offers range from 5,700 to 5,900 yuan per metric ton, providing cost support for nitrogen-based flame retardants such as MCA and MPP. Downstream demand remains weak, and the cost pass-through for flame retardants is not proceeding smoothly, putting pressure on profits. Some production facilities are set to resume operations next week; keep an eye on new guidance from industry conferences.

A single-strand combustion test can only demonstrate that the cable material itself is self-extinguishing, whereas bundle combustion testing is the “ultimate test” for evaluating a cable bundle’s ability to resist flame spread in a real fire. The challenges of bundle combustion testing lie in the chimney effect causing heat accumulation, molten droplets igniting materials below, and auxiliary materials such as filler ropes acting as flame pathways. The silver-plastic flame-retardant K100 nano-organic montmorillonite char-forming synergist, through intercalation modification technology, forms a dense, barrier-like char layer during combustion that traps molten material to prevent dripping. When used in conjunction with primary flame retardants such as ATH and MDH, it helps ensure consistent success in bundle burning tests.

Flame retardancy in adhesives is often compromised by white spots caused by uneven dispersion of flame retardants, or by an acidic pH that affects bond strength. The silver-plastic flame retardant WADP-10 has been specially modified to offer excellent dispersion and a near-neutral pH; it does not interfere with curing, does not corrode substrates, and provides stable peel strength. MCA-B is suitable for nylon and oil-based adhesive systems, meeting the dual requirements of V-0 flame retardancy and bonding performance.

Antimony prices remain stuck at high levels, with antimony trioxide holding steady at 95,000–98,000 yuan per metric ton, while bromine has risen in tandem to 37,000–37,500 yuan per metric ton, keeping cost pressures on flame retardants high. Zimbabwe’s export ban has exacerbated supply disruptions, and with downstream demand remaining weak, the market is caught between rising and falling prices. This has further opened the window for evaluating antimony-free alternatives.

FPC, FFC, and electronic potting compounds—uneven flame retardancy in ultra-thin coatings, component contamination, and failure due to high temperatures during reflow soldering are the three major challenges in flame retardancy for electronic adhesives. Yinsu’s YS-F22B ultra-fine halogen-free flame retardant (comparable to Clariant OP930), with a D95 particle size of ≤10 μm, is hydrolysis-resistant, non-migrating, and does not contaminate components. It achieves UL94 V-0 compliance at low loading levels and is suitable for high-end electronic adhesive applications such as FPCs, FFCs, electronic potting compounds, and label adhesives.
